What a PCO driver job with us looks like
All our work is pre-booked through the office, so you know where you are going before you set off.
Choose your hours
Bookings come in around the clock, so you can work early mornings, daytime, evenings or nights.
Airport runs
Regular transfers to Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City.
Station transfers
Runs to King's Cross, Euston, Paddington, Victoria, Waterloo, Charing Cross and London Bridge.
All vehicle types
We need saloons, estates, 6 seater MPVs and 7/8 seaters.
What you need to apply
To drive private hire in London you must meet Transport for London's licensing rules. To join us you will need:
- A valid TfL private hire (PCO) driver licence
- A vehicle with a valid TfL private hire vehicle licence, or access to one
- Private hire (hire and reward) insurance
- A full UK driving licence
- The right to work in the UK

Croydon Airport Transfers is a pre-booked taxi and minicab firm serving Croydon and south London. We are looking for licensed PCO drivers to cover airport, station and local journeys. If you already drive private hire, or you have just got your licence and want steady pre-booked work close to home, this page explains how to join us.
The work you will do
A lot of our work is airport transfers. Early runs to Gatwick and Heathrow are among our most common bookings, with longer trips to Stansted and Luton too. We also run to the London stations, such as Victoria and King's Cross, and do local trips around the borough, including school runs, hospital appointments and evenings out.
Because every job is booked through the office, you get the pickup address, destination, passenger numbers and luggage details before you go. For airport pickups, the office tracks the flight, so you arrive when the passenger actually lands.
Where the work is
Most pickups are in Croydon, in areas such as Thornton Heath, Purley, Coulsdon and South Norwood. Drop-offs can be anywhere in London or at any of the five London airports. See our areas we cover page for more.
Earnings
What you earn depends on the hours you work, the vehicle you drive and the jobs you accept. Airport transfers and group bookings in larger vehicles tend to pay more than short local trips. We don't publish guaranteed figures, because they vary from driver to driver. When you apply, our team will explain how jobs are offered and how you get paid.
Drivers with larger vehicles
If you drive a 6 seater MPV or a 7/8 seater, there is regular demand from families and groups going to the airports. Our 6 seater taxi and 7 seater taxi services are booked most often at weekends and in school holidays.
Don't have a PCO licence yet?
You must hold a TfL private hire driver licence before you can carry passengers with us. Licences are issued by Transport for London, which sets the checks and tests applicants must pass. Check the current requirements on the TfL website before you apply. Once you have your licence, come back and register with us.
What we expect from our drivers
Our customers book with us because they expect a punctual, polite and safe service. We ask every driver to arrive on time, keep the car clean, help with luggage, follow the agreed fare and treat every passenger with respect. Assistance dogs must always be carried, as the law requires.
