Thornton Heath taxis for everyday journeys
Most of our Thornton Heath bookings are ordinary, everyday trips: to the shops on the Purley Way, to a friend's house across the borough, or home from East Croydon after a late train. You can book ahead or call when you need a car, and the fare is agreed before you set off.
Hospital trips on London Road
Croydon University Hospital is in Thornton Heath, and we take a lot of people there for appointments, tests and visits. If you are unwell or have limited mobility, tell the office so we can allow extra time. For a return trip, let us know roughly when you expect to finish, and call us if the appointment runs over.
Airport runs from CR7
Thornton Heath is a good starting point for Gatwick, straight down the A23 through Croydon and Purley. Heathrow is a longer run west, usually via Mitcham and Sutton. We track flights for return pickups. See the Croydon to Gatwick taxi page for more about that route.
School runs
Parents in Thornton Heath book us for regular school runs. If you would like a regular slot, talk to the office about the days and times you need.
Bigger cars and pets
For family trips, our 6 seater taxi takes up to six passengers. If your dog needs a trip to the vet, ask for our pet friendly taxi. Neighbouring Norbury and Selhurst are covered too.

Booking tips for Thornton Heath
A few practical things that help journeys from Thornton Heath go smoothly.
Busy times on London Road
The A23 through Thornton Heath and the junction at Thornton Heath Pond can be slow at school times and in the evening rush. For a train or flight at those times, book a slightly earlier pickup. The office will suggest a sensible time.
Pickups at the hospital
Croydon University Hospital is a big site with several entrances. Tell us which department or entrance you are at, and the driver will meet you as close to it as possible. If you are being discharged and don't know the exact time, call when you are ready.
Shopping and heavy bags
Many Thornton Heath customers book a car home from the supermarkets and retail parks on the Purley Way. One trip home with the shopping is easier than two buses with heavy bags.
Travelling with children
Child seats are available on request. Tell us the ages of your children when you book, and the right seats will be fitted before the driver arrives.
Also covering Norbury, Selhurst and South Norwood
